James Chelini

President

Mr. Chelini has over 35 years of experience in software development for embedded real-time systems in both commercial and military applications. His work has focused on the definition and implementation of software architectures, software safety, and process improvement. Since co-founding Verocel in 1999, Mr. Chelini has been responsible for the management of all Verocel Inc. projects.

He has also been an active member of the following committees:

  • Streamlined Certification Processes working group
  • SC-205 – Software Considerations in Airborne Software (DO-178C/DO-278A/DO-248C/DO-178C Supplements); co-chair of the Object-Oriented Technology Subgroup
  • SC-200 – Integrated Modular Avionics (DO-297)
  • SC-190 – Application Guidelines for RTCA DO-178B/ED-12B (Software), where he was the co-chair for the Development Subgroup
  • SC-182 – Requirements Specification for the Avionics Computing Resource (DO-255)

Tomasz Iwaszkiewicz

Vice President, Engineering

Verocel-Polska sp. z o.o.

Mr. Iwaszkiewicz has focused on the verification of safety critical software since the beginning of his career. Prior to co-founding Verocel-Polska sp. z o.o. in 2001, he was a member of an international team of software engineers specialized in test development for embedded systems. Since 2001, he has participated in numerous verification projects for safety-critical applications, real-time operating systems and IMA platforms.

Mr. Iwaszkiewicz has also been involved in the design and implementation of numerous DO-178B/DO-330 qualified tools, including structural coverage analysis tools, instruction level simulators, stack usage analysis tools, and XML-based configuration data management tools for IMA systems.  Mr. Iwaszkiewicz is presently a member of the committee responsible for development of the ARINC 653 specification, and participates in the Streamlined Certification Processes working group.

Joseph Wlad

Vice President, Business Development, Sales and Marketing

Mr. Wlad has over 30 years’ experience in aircraft, systems and software certification. He is an experienced FAA Designated Engineering Representative for systems and equipment and software. Since 1999, he has been involved in development, test and certification of many commercial operating systems. Mr. Wlad has co-authored patents on GPS integrity algorithms and led the certification of the first military GPS receiver to FAA standards.  At Verocel, Mr. Wlad is responsible for the strategic direction of both products and services across all markets served by Verocel.

Nicola Barry

Vice President, Quality

Ms. Barry has been a member of the Quality Assurance team at Verocel since 2009, ensuring quality and process assurance for numerous software and hardware certification projects. In this role, Ms. Barry leads QA audit activities of all phases of certification life cycle data, including the definition and revision of company process plans across multiple certification standards such as DO-178B/C, IEC61508 and ISO26262. Prior to joining Verocel, Ms. Barry held technical marketing and business analyst roles in the telecommunications industry.
